Four criminal cases have already been sent to relevant courts for consideration
Criminal cases have been initiated against the heads of the institutions of the Ministry of Culture located in different regions.
According to the information released by the Press Service of the General Prosecutor’s Office, 11 cases were investigated in the General Department of the Fight against Corruption in 2021 and the first half of 2022 based on the request of the Ministry of Culture .
As a result, eight criminal cases were initiated on the fact that the managers of cultural institutions located in Baku, Barda, Shamakhi, Agjabedi and Kurdamir districts committed crimes of fraud, embezzlement and waste, bribery, abuse of power and forgery.
Four criminal cases have already been sent to relevant courts for consideration.
In one criminal case, the proceedings were terminated as compensation for the damage caused to the state was ensured.
Three criminal cases are currently being investigated.
“As a result of the committed illegal actions, 917 thousand manats of the 1 million 870 thousand manat damage to the state budget was paid during the investigation period.
“Necessary investigative actions are being continued in order to pay the rest of the damage,” the information states.
It is emphasized in the information that in the materials submitted by the Ministry of Culture during the investigation, sufficient grounds were not established for the initiation of criminal proceedings against four enterprises, and five submissions were sent on the elimination of violations of the law, the reasons and conditions that caused them.
“A warning was announced by the prosecutor in order to prevent two people from violating the law.”
According to the information of the Ministry of Culture, serious law violations and cases of embezzlement were discovered based on the results of inspections and official investigations carried out on July 4 in Regional Culture Departments and subordinate institutions.
The Ministry has sent the information with the detected signs of crime related to the illegal actions of the officials of the administrations and enterprises to the relevant law enforcement agencies.
