Forum 2000 delegates started the second day of the conference Oct 13 at a range of working breakfast meetings with a focus on the nature and current state of democracy and the threats to it, both from external sources, such as the resurgence of authoritarian ideologies and regimes, and internal, in the form of political apathy, a theme that developed throughout the afternoon and long into the evening.
