On April 25 a group of NIDA supporters organized a protest action in front of the United Nations building in New York City, N.Y. The protesters, some of whom travelled from neighboring states, voiced their demands to release political prisoners in Azerbaijan and NIDA activists, in particular. Wearing t-shirts with pictures of the activists on the front and “Save our friends, sign the petition. #Azadet” on the back, the activists gathered signatures under the petition in support of the detainees, launched earlier this month by Amnesty International.
