Residents of an Azerbaijani village have been living without water and gas for over 30 years.
Leyti village of Shabran region is located approximately a two hours drive from Baku. There has been no water in this village for over 30 years. The only source of drinking water is a small spring. Long queues line up in front of the spring in summer. In recent years, the village has been almost deserted. Many have moved to the regional center or the capital. A resident of the village, Nusreddin Abdullaev, says that the gas supply to the village stopped almost 35 years ago. You cannot fell trees in the neighboring forest. And firewood is expensive – 250-300 manats for one truck of firewood.
