US Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan was invited to the MFA
On the night of October 10-11, it is reported that the service car of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington was fired upon.
This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) .
It is reported that the relevant agencies of the United States have been informed about the incident. At the same time, the camera footage was presented to the other party.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs adds that the US Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan was invited to the ministry on October 12 and informed about the incident:
“Recently, radical members of Armenian communities in foreign countries have been attacking diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan. Earlier, there were attacks on Azerbaijani embassies in Washington, Paris, Beirut and other cities. This is a serious concern.”
“Ensuring the security of diplomatic missions in foreign countries is an obligation of the host country under the international convention. Therefore, we emphasize once again the need to conduct an appropriate investigation into each incident and ensure the security of embassies and diplomats at the appropriate level,” the ministry said.
Earlier, on August 4, there was an attack on the embassy of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. At that time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the embassy was attacked by a group of radical religious groups.
It was reported that the group entered the embassy building, raised religious flags on the balcony and shouted radical religious slogans: “After the intervention of the local police, the group members were taken out of the building and detained. As a result of the incident, the employees of the embassy were not injured.”
In the information released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was noted that the previous attacks were not investigated in any way.
