Both countries’ representatives are exchanging provocations about the allegation that Armenian militaries were besieged in Lachin.
On 9 November, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry released a note that supposed Armenian Armed Forces were moving in two military trucks in the direction of Lake Garagol in the Lachin region, effectively closing the road to the Azerbaijani Army.
According to the note, the trucks were surrounded by Azerbaijani forces and then left the area. An Azerbaijani minister called this another incitation of the Armenian side.
The Armenian Defense Ministry, however, denied the information. According to them, the event did not take place and that the situation in the region is stable.
The exchange of accusations takes place as tensions between both countries have increased again lately. Early this week, both sides blamed each other over a ceasefire violation near Shusha. In September, a skirmish between the Azerbaijani and Armenian armed forces broke out on the border.
