Azerbaijan’s Constitutional Court confirmed the results of the presidential elections

Azerbaijan’s Constitutional Court has confirmed the results of the presidential elections held on 7 February 7.

Based on the final protocol of the Central Election Commission, the Constitutional Court said that Ilham Aliyev won the presidential elections with 92.12% of votes.

Extraordinary presidential elections were held in Azerbaijan on 7 February. Seven candidates participated in the election, while the Azerbaijan People’s Front, Musavat and Classic People’s Front parties boycotted the election.

According to Article 103 of the Constitution, the President-elect takes an oath in the presence of the judges of the Constitutional Court within 3 days after the announcement of the election results. The President of Azerbaijan is considered to have started the exercise of his powers from the day he took the oath.
