The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Milli Majlis.
On 14 February, the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was held in the Milli Majlis.
Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Farhad Abdullayev, who spoke at the event, said that after confirming the results of the Central Election Commission on the presidential election yesterday, Ilham Aliyev was declared the President of Azerbaijan.
On 13 February, the Constitutional Court confirmed the results of the presidential election.
Seven candidates participated in the election, which was held on 7 February. Opposition parties Azerbaijan People’s Front, Musavat and Classic People’s Front parties boycotted the election.
Based on the final protocol of the Central Election Commission, the Constitutional Court said that Ilham Aliyev won the presidential elections with 92.12 % of votes.
According to the latest information of the Central Election Commission, voter turnout was 76.43%.
Ilham Aliyev has been serving as President of Azerbaijan for over than 20 years.
