Ruslan Aliyev is from the village of Sim in Astara. In his village, he collects what he considers to be underground history. Aliyev affirms that ancient history lies beneath the land where he lives – it is even possible to find pottery fragments on the road. His dream is that scientists study the history of the village of Sim. He believes that the state should inherit this historical heritage and pass it on to future generations. Archaeologist-ethnographer Nariman Agazadeh, who specializes in the history of the Talysh region, says that one of the caves in the Talysh mountains in south Azerbaijan belongs to the Lower Paleolithic period. This is the second discovery in Azerbaijan after the Azykh cave of this period. The findings in the village of Sim usually date back to the Bronze Age.
