\n Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesperson for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, in Baku on 7 February.\n<\/p>\n

\n Hajiyev said that in the course of a visit to Azerbaijan, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group (MG) – Stefan Visconti (France), Igor Popov (Russia) and Andrew Schofer (USA) – and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk were received by President Ilham Aliyev to discuss the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.\n<\/p>\n

\n He said the sides agreed that intensive talks would be continued on the basis of existing opinions and proposals after the presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan and Armenia.\n<\/p>\n

\n “As a country subjected to aggression and occupation, Azerbaijan supports efforts towards a speedy settlement of the conflict by way of substantive and logical negotiations,” he said.\n<\/p>\n

\n He said that the status quo was not acceptable and could not last, therefore the situation must change.\n<\/p>\n

\n He said that for the status quo to change, Armenian armed forces must completely and unconditionally pull out of Azerbaijan’s territories, as demanded by four UN Security Council resolutions.\n<\/p>\n
