\n Over 119 children have been hospitalized in the city of Sumqayit in the last three days with intestinal infections.\n<\/p>\n

\n According to the director of the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, Imran Abdullayev, on June 10, children in between the ages of 2 and 5 were taken to the hospital.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Since June 7 in Sumqayit, 119 children were taken to the hospital. . . Now 54 children are being examined at the municipal children’s hospital. Many children admitted to the hospital were diagnosed with intestinal infections. The patients had headache, nausea, vomiting and fatigue.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Abdullayev noted that samples were taken from all the children admitted.\n<\/p>\n

\n “After the results of the tests we will know the exact cause of the disease. At the moment, our job is to find the source of this infection. Infection could come from both water and food. In this regard, our employees will take a water sample for the examination. ”\n<\/p>\n

\n In turn, the national operator of water supply and sewerage system of Azerbaijan “Azersu” disseminated information in connection with the mass poisoning in Sumqayit.\n<\/p>\n

\n The head of the press service of the company Anar Dzhabrailli said that immediately after the publication of relevant information in the media, specialists of the state enterprise were sent to the scene of the incident who immediately began an investigation.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Several samples were taken in the Tagiyev settlement and in neighboring districts. The preliminary check did not reveal any changes in the composition of the water, the liquid complies with norms and standards.
