\n The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has officially refused to facilitate political activist Dashghin Aghalarli’s relocation to a third country.\n<\/p>\n

\n Azerbaijani political activist Dashgin Agalarly currently residing in Tbilisi was recently presented with the decision of the Tbilisi Court of Appeal that his further stay in the territory of Georgia can last only a month, after which he must leave the country.\n<\/p>\n

\n Otherwise, Aghalarli will be deported to Azerbaijan.\n<\/p>\n

\n The court handed down the decision on March 21.\n<\/p>\n

\n Moreover, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees officially refused to facilitate Dashghin Agalarli\u2019s relocation to a third country.\n<\/p>\n

\n Journalist Afgan Mukhtarli said this on his Facebook page.\n<\/p>\n

\n “His arrest in Georgia, the court’s decision to abolish the right to reside and the UN’s refusal occurred as a result of the efforts of the Azerbaijani government. Now there is a real threat to his life. He may return to Azerbaija, in which case we may face a new tragedy\u2026\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n In an interview with Meydan TV, Dashgin Agalarli confirmed the information.\n<\/p>\n

\n “After the decision of the Tbilisi Court of Appeal on March 21 that I will have to leave the territory of Georgia, a month later, that is, after the official presentation of the court’s decision, I sent a letter of appeal to the UNHCR regional representative in the South Caucasus, Johannes Van Der Klaauw, as well as Filippo Grandi, the High Commissioner for Refugees to the United Nations.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n “In a letter dated April 25 of this year, I described to him the entire situation and once again asked for help in moving to a third country \u2013\u00a0I said did not care where, but on May 2 they answered with a polite refusal,” said the political activist.\n<\/p>\n

\n Dashgin Aghalarli added that he is still trying to inform both local (Georgian) and international human rights organizations.\n<\/p>\n

\n “There is very little time, the decision was formally presented to me three days ago, the local center for human rights has already appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to temporarily suspend the deportation process.”\n<\/p>\n

\n “Now I hope that international organizations \u2026can at least somehow help…”, concluded the political activist.\n<\/p>\n
