\n On Monday, Azerbaijani President Ilha Aliyev held a meeting with the Cabinet of Ministers where he spoke about the country’s socio-economic development in the first half of 2015 and the objectives for the future.\n<\/p>\n

\n The President had some harsh rhetoric for Western states and their politicians, accusing them of waging a war against Azerbaijan.

\n \u201cToday, unfortunately, fascisms, religious discrimination, Islamophobia, xenophobia and anti-Semitism prevail across Europe. In other words, it is not only against Muslims,” Aliyev said.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Of course, there are some forces that envy the development of the Muslim country, they are united. In addition, the protectors of the remains of the \u201cfifth column\u201d also launched an attack on Azerbaijan,\u201d he added.\n<\/p>\n

\n President Aliyev went on to add that information war against Azerbaijan reached the most severe stage on the eve of the first European Games. \u201cHowever, the Azerbaijani people and state won this information war. This campaign and final stage of this campaign once again showed that no outside force can affect our will. Though, the European Parliament discussed a biased resolution against Azerbaijan two days before the opening of the first European Games, it was not approved. German Bundestag adopted an anti-Azerbaijan resolution. It is part of a dirty campaign conducted to discredit our country and its successes. The question is what has German Bundestag to do with us? Is German Bundestag master of the world, ruler of the world, should everyone obey them? It seems, they had become accustomed to it, but they shouldn\u2019t compare us with others. There is distance in our relations, and we don\u2019t want anything from them. On the contrary they are in need of our gas, contracts, oil and our activity in this region.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n President Aliyev said Azerbaijan has no problems with the European countries in a bilateral format. \u201cIn most cases, I express my concerns during the meetings with the leaders of the leading European countries. They told us to turn a blind eye. Indeed, we take no notice. If we did, we would have done what they say. No one here will obey them. Those resolutions are just pieces of paper for us. Therefore, no one will ever implement them. Let the Azerbaijani people and the ones who drew up those ugly resolutions know it. No one can dictate Azerbaijan. One can be a friend and partner to Azerbaijan, and we are ready for this. We will go on in this direction in the future\u201d, the president completed.\n<\/p>\n

\n Aliyev also lambasted a resolution adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on the eve of the European Games. According to apa.az, the initial text of the resolution read that \u201cthe Assembly is aware of the occupation of Azerbaijani territories.\u201d But in the final text of the resolution, the sentence was altered to \u201cthe Assembly is aware of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.\u201d\n<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
