\n The Human Rights Tulip
\n <\/a>
\n award is presented by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is given to individuals who have dedicated their lives to defend, promote, and support human rights in innovative ways.\n<\/p>\n

\n In the past six years since its launch, the award has been given to a variety of institutions and individuals.\n<\/p>\n

\n The prize of 100,000EUR is awarded to an organization\/individual to further develop or expand their cause for the human rights work in their respective countries.\n<\/p>\n

\n This year, among the 30 candidates selected for the award (the decision making body is Hivos) are two political prisoners from Azerbaijan –
\n
\n Leyla Yunus
\n <\/a>
\n and
\n
\n Rasul Jafarov.
\n <\/a>\n<\/p>\n
