Azerbaijan once again Europe’s “most homophobic country”

Azerbaijan has once again been deemed "Europe's most homophobic country".

This year's Rainbow Index puts Azerbaijan in last place, followed by Turkey, Armenia and Russia.

The Rainbow Map and Index has been surveying the LGBTI+ community in 49 European countries since 2009.

In recent years, police have conducted several "LGBTI+ hunts" in various parts of the capital, resulting in dozens of people being tortured.

Their complaints are currently being considered by the European Court of Human Rights.
